Golf Parc du Signal de Bougy (07:00 - 15 :00)
Bus transfer will be organized
"Hole n°4 is the most difficult and so the player must be prepared to make the best stroke! It is amazing! The golf course overlooks lake Geneva and offers a view of over sixty kilometers from Geneva to Montreux. The Alps form an imposing background to the lake..."*

Apart from the magnificent panorama, the Golf Course of Signal de Bougy offers one of the best rounds of golf in the French part of Switzerland. The golf course has 18 holes, not all of the same interest, but the splendid view is captivating.

FIATA Opening Ceremony
Tuesday, September 22, 2009 (08:30 - 09:30)
The Centre International de Conférences Genève,
Auditorium 2 - Level 0
Included in registration fee
Delegates and accompanying persons are invited to attend the Opening Ceremony.
Mr Moritz Leuenberger, Swiss Federal Councillor, Head of the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications as well as the Geneva State Councillor François Longchamp will represent the city and welcome all participants.

The "Vieux Grenadiers" will escort the VIPs to their seats and the ceremony will begin. In 1705, the first corps of the Grenadiers was created within Geneva's militia troops. Back in 1749, several of Geneva's Grenadiers decided to form a club or circle to meet on a regularly basis, to discuss many subjects including politics, but also play cards, and have a good time together after their military training.
This circle today consists of more than 1,000 members of Geneva's male citizens. In 1896, for the Swiss National Exhibition, a platoon of about 10 members of the society, decided to wear the 1813 Geneva Grenadiers uniform to fly our banner.
Today, this platoon has grown. As can be seen in the picture, Geneva's Old Grenadiers Company is today made up of about 70 men. Some of them will be present at the Opening Ceremony.

FIATA Welcome Reception
Tuesday, September 22, 2009 (19:45 - 22:30)
Evening at the BFM
With the kind support of Plaske
Included in the registration fee

The Bâtiment des Forces Motrices (BFM) is an example of the successful restoration and transformation of an industrial site. The building was first opened in May 1886 as a factory and then completely refurbished. In September 1997 it was reopened as an opera house. This majestic edifice was built in the middle of the Rhône riverbed between 1883 and 1892 by Théodore Turrettini, engineer and politician. This evening will be placed under the Swiss banner and you will enjoy traditional music such as alphorns, folk dancing and special animated stands like archery, trying to milk a cow...

Do not miss this very special Swiss evening in a building of historical interest and character!

Wine and cheese Reception

Relax in style, at the Wine and Cheese Reception, which will be held in the Exhibition Hall of the CICG. This will be a great opportunity to visit our exhibitors while connecting with old and new friends. Taste amazing Swiss wines and enjoy a selection of international cheeses served with a variety of breads. We realize that many people will want to spend time exploring Geneva, so we're holding the event early, between 18:00 and 20:00, to allow for more time for dinner (which is not provided) and sightseeing.

For your convenience, a list of restaurants within walking distance of the conference centre will be available at the registration at the CICG. The cost of the reception is included in the registration fee, so be sure to join us.
